Hello all. Just wondering what engine everybody is running in their celica's? Im toying with the idea of putting a 2 JZ in mine. Ive heard of people using 1G-G and 1 JZ Engines. As well as a 1UZ Lexus V8's
Just wondering what blokes are running.

i have a 21r-u in my ra60 but one day there will be a 1ggte in there or in another car i just need to rebuild it.
but a 2jz in a first gen celica would be awesome maybe a bit of bashing and cutting the firewall though

I'm running a 4A GE 16 valve. Pretty much standard a part from a pod filter and tuned equal length extractors. I'm eying off my Brothers 20 valve for some screaming NA power.

Here’s a friend of mines 1GGTE converted to single turbo, running haltech computer . Thought id show a pic, as it’s what I’m am doing with my 1GGTE, I plan to run a” disco potato” turbo however. He is using 1GGZE or n/a 1GG rocker covers. And here is a pic of the gen3 1GGTE I recently picked up. This one “looks” better than the first one I bought, but time will tell which one I actually use, ill strip them both down and see what I have to play with.

Be careful if you strip it that you can get bearings if you strip it that far. use toyodiy.com to search for part numbers and order them from amayama.com and you may be able to get bearings from japan there a bit of a pain because there all imported haha good luck matey. A gasket kit is about $400 from toyota iir.

My mate managed to find better bearings than the factory ones. And he got a full gasket kit for around the $300 mark I think. Cheers for the web sites, ill check them out, ill be rebuilding the engine, and gear box " when I get one". Once the engine is in, I dont want to take it out again. Lol.

Sweet. Good to have another 1GGTE conversionist...."i made that up" They are an awesome engine to run in RA 23 & 28's. I’ve got a full wiring diagram and engine spec and dismantle manual, however, the engine one is in Japanese. I’m trying to find someone to translate it. I’m happy to share if you’re interested. Also have a shitload of info on 1ggte, part numbers etc. Are you planning to run it as a standard twin turbo? If so, I’m happy to sell you some stock parts cheap for spares as mine will be set up as a single turbo. Look forward to seeing the conversion.
