the together package
the slightly befor dash
the after dash
pics of how the car sits now
standard pistons that i picked up for the new block
the OEM 5sfe metal h/g
ok so some of you may think why build a new motor and stay standard. well im not going for big horspower YET........... as you can see i have a fully tunable ecu that can be tuned from my laptop.
another reason for going somewhat stock is the money and the prices of things. its not easy to build a race car or a good car without a good well paying job which i have, but i also have a child to watch money dissapear too.
to give you all an idea of whats happening. so far the car is at the point were i need to take it to confidyne to tune this car and put it on the dyno. a few things will be added on the computer functions befor then, like launch controll and flat shifting, i am currently trying to sorce someone out around that can build my roll cage, im also looking for some cambertops, which seem to be hard to come by. it is still a slow process but it will all happen eventualy
Now the new motor. the reason i am building a new motor is so when i start my racing... im starting on a fresh motor. there will be some good gear in the motor like the ARP mains and head studs. like you can see the head has been in a tub and the block was also in a tub, but that was in one for about a month. this build is all being built by myself but i will have my father in-law hanging over my shoulder and helping me every step along the way, he builds some seriouse race engines himself. and has worked as a mechanic and in machining for over 40 years, so he has the skill. the block will get a good hone, the crank will get knife edged polished and balanced along with the flywheel and possibly a few kgs taken off it, which will be a standard 3sge one. the rods and the pistons will be standard. but in the next motor after this motor they will be some serious business. the head will be recoed with new valves and dual valve springs, i will stay with the 3sge cams and we will port match to intake, and port match to the new stainless turbo manifild once i aquire one.
the car is also in some need of some good TLC as i dont get to work on it much as of its location. untill 2 weeks away were i will be moving to a house with a garage. YES!!! which then allows me to work on the car at any time whith my daughter around.
so far thats its i guess.
