ok guys, I thought it was about time I made my own thread.
Im Alex and this is my celica at the moment. And it is Stoney's old celica!
I didn't go with the 3t/2tgue hybrid motor as I wanted something a little more modern and different. the motor in it is just a 2t so I didn't need mod plate and I want to drive it to college.
the plans are, and some people probably will have there own opinions, is to put an sr20det in. I have chosen this engine because I am also a big fan of Nissan, I already have an sr20 with a blown head which I could use for test fitting, its a full alloy bloke and weighs almost the same as a 2tg and parts are so easy to get, plus with an aftermarket garret turbo, there is no stopping it. I have been learning to TIG weld at college so I plan on welding my own turbo piping.
Some of the stuff I have done to it is:
the 2t
new rear drums brakes
new clutch plate
rewired a lot of the car
I have put the front chin spoiler on, using my own mounts I have made up and I used flexible chrome (copyright Evan).
I have order in longer wheel studs and 2 half inch spacers for the back wheels and should be arriving this afternoon
The future plans are:
the sr20det with the gearbox conversion
Ke70 steering rack and pinion
hilux diff
commodore disc brakes, not sure yet if I will go with commodore
full flare kit with rear spoiler (in the near future)
and new wheels. (I will keep the centers but have a wider dish) but that's when the I get the flairs
new suspension but not yet sure what
I like the style of the front so I will leave it. I will probably not start the conversion till next year when I am full time, not one day on the job and one day at tafe and the rest at college.
