Cool, would be good to be involved in the whole process. Your lucky to have someone with the know how willing to lend a hand! I've got a VH charger to restore atm, just trying to decide wether to get someone to do the panel beating/welding or have a crack at it myself. It needs quite a few repair sections welded in, quite daunting!

Yeah NICE. That’s a car well worth restoring. Im going to be hands on all the way with my restoration, and be guided by a few people…..lol I’ve got a few mates, and mates of mates that range from, panel beaters, painters, auto electricians and mechanics, so I should be in good hands. Plus all the Celica advice from this forum and toymods will go a long way as I’ve only really restored Holden’s and a Honda Prelude in the past. Be awesome to see some pics of the old charger dude. I could put you on to a few people who may be able to offer some advice / help with it.

I’m hoping to get the engine / gear box fitted and car fully sprayed by May. The interior work will be next, But in the meantime I’m planning on finding out about upholstery courses here in Hobart, As id like to keep it original as possible inside, and revamp it as new. Id love to have the whole car done by the end of the year. But then again…..when do deadlines ever work out

G'day Fusion, I will be about to show you some tricks of the trade with the upholstery. I worked for Macphersons Trimming for 6 months so I know a bit about retrimming car seats. Where are you getting the industrial sewing machine from? I was talking to Wayne Macpherson the owner and he was thinking of selling a couple of sewing machines. Cheers Evan.

Wayne Wants $800 for the industral sewing machine comes with every thing you need to get started. It was totally rebuilt a couple of years ago and hasn't done much work since the rebuild. I would buy it but I don't have the cash.

At some point I will do the interior of my car, To tell you the truth my pears have bought it, but it will stay at my house because I know how to use it. But the catch is that have to make everything for their boat, its a very big boat with a lot of upholstering to do.

Well well. After a year of delay, I will be setting up the RA28 in my own Garage. I’ve been desperately waiting to sink my teeth into this car, but real-estate, work, kids, travel time and just about everything else has been in the way of this project. It’s taken 14 months to sell my unit, but now it’s officially SOLD. Settlement on my new house is this month, so FINALLY……..constant restoration can begin in the next few weeks, in my own workspace. All the plans are in place for engine, interior, wheels and paint. I’m definitely going to require some knowledge from members of this forum. Will keep you updated.
