Hello, I found this site on gumtree and thought I would join. I am looking for a 1972-76 Celica. I have been trying to buy one off a lady for ages but no such luck so when I found this site I thought I would join up to see if anyone out there has one for sale. It doesn't need to be going or registered but I would prefer one that is original if possible. Thank you. Mandy

Welcome to the site. They are for sale every now and again. Are you looking for a shell to restore?

Thank you. Something like that. I haven't much of a clue how to restore one but my husband does. I also don't know how much of a restoration I want to do until I come across some and see what they are like.

Welcome Mandy, good luck with the search I agree with the mainland idea, they are very rare down here and the ones that are for sale are pretty bad. You might get luck, but the chances of that are very small. It would be a good excuse to go for a holiday.

I have looked on the mainland but most of the time they are modified to the hilt. I will keep looking though.

Car sales, just cars. But gumtree is the main one.

Even if you find one modified, there easy to take back to original. If you are considering looking on the main land. There is a real nice purple one on gumtree for 4k and is slightly modified but nothing to bad.

Had a look on gumtree and couldn't find it. Maybe it has been sold. Where was it do you know?

G'day Mandy. Any reason you are after a 72-76 Celica? Do you dislike the rear fuel filler and flat lights of the 70-72 TA22's? The mainland is defiantly the way to go if you are after a decent one, as most of the ones in tassie, that hit the web or papers are usually overpriced or stuffed. By any chance was the Celica that you have been trying to buy off a lady, a Red GT? -Jake

Just another suggestion is posting an add on the classic celica club of tasmania Facebook site.

Hi. The celica was red and it was off a lady, don't know about the GT bit. No reason wanting a 72-76 I guess, any would do.
